I AM AN ADVOCATE FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
My name is Tami Joia. I am an advocate for children with special needs. I have designed a grassroots agency to assist parents in obtaining services and supports as dictated by state and federal special education regulations. Throughout my twenty years I have acquired the necessary knowledge and expertise to level the playing field between school systems and parents. I believe accessing services and establishing transparency are the responsibility of school systems. However, when parents are denied these services and their rights I seek to rectify the situation by the implementation of laws afforded every child. I take immense pride in obtaining special education services for children. Although I am not a lawyer, my ability in navigating parents through the maze of special education procedures regarding specially designed instruction for eligible students, mimics those of established special education attorneys, at a fraction of the cost. Starting with a child’s determination of eligibility all the way to an agreed upon and implemented IEP, I will guide and teach parents to advocate on their child’s behalf. I have a 100% success rate in obtaining special education determination, supports, and services in public as well as private special education schools. Many of these services are granted before ever going through the hearings process, thereby lessening the parents’ financial burden. I consider myself a child advocate. That means ALL children with any disability or any child that is suspected of having a disability, be it medical, physical, emotional, social, behavioral or learning. My precedent setting career has been highlighted in several publications dedicated to children with special needs.
NATIONWIDE ADVOCACY AND THE FEDERAL LAWS...
The platform through which I provide educational advocacy services to children with special needs is the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, commonly referred to as I.D.E.A.S. The Procedural Safeguards regarding IDEAS are located within the U.S. Dept of Education and the Office Of Special Education Programs websites. In order to obtain my services, which include all aspects of the IEP in part or in whole, all that’s required is all your current documentation in reference to your child. Copies of medical/suspected diagnosis, IEP/504, any completed school system or independent special education tests and a brief description of your concerns.
My knowledge and expertise in special education advocacy can strengthen your child’s future….unlocking his/her potential.

Hi, I'm Tami Joia, Advocate
Although I am not a lawyer, my Advocate skills are demonstrated by the success rate of hundreds of fully accepted appropriate IEP's, for hundreds of children with special needs that we fought for and won over the last 20 years.
Tami Joia's experience as an Advocate for children with disabilities and the experience needed to perform your duty as an advocate is mentioned in two books for children who suffer from Bipolar, "Is Your Child Bipolar and Positive Parent for Bipolar Kids", written by Maryann McDonnell, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Janet Wozniak, MD, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Both books include a chapter regarding advocacy, i.e. "Invisible Elephants: Education, Advocacy and IEP's", (chapter 9)
I am very familiar with Navigating the Special Education Maze and have developed keen skills, tools and strategies that have been successful in obtaining the needed services for children with special needs, such as Autism, ADHD/ADD, Bipolar and other Social/Emotional and Behavioral disorders, Language Based and Nonverbal Learning Disabilities, Auditory Processing Disorder, Social Skills and Communication Disorders,Occupational/Sensory Integration Disorders, Developmental Delay/Mental Retardation, and much more.
I provide Advocacy for Children with Special Needs and Special Education Advocacy Training. I do not specialize in only one area of disability. Our Special Education Advocacy is for ALL children diagnosed with autism, asperger's, pdd/nos, adhd, learning disabled, language based learning disability, auditory process deficits,
developmental delay and/or mental retardation, bipolar disorder, social/emotional and behavioral disorders and much more.... that are adversely impacting a child with disabilities and/or a child of suspected of having special needs in school, at home and in the community.

The "ABC's of I.E.P.'s" is the second book in a series helping parents to navigate the special education maze and to understand their rights and their child with a disability right to a Free Appropriate Public Education. After reading this book you will know what your child is going to receive after the next team meeting and what to do if your child is not receiving what they need to succeed.
Both books are available in Paperback, Ebook and PDF. Get your copy now and start making changes.
The Book is also available as ebook and PDF files follow the link and get your copy today and learn the strategies that I have used for over 20 years of Advocacy and it works.
Untitled: From a Parent of an Autistic Child
Don't look directly past me
as if I couldn't tell
your fear wrapped in indifference
when you know very well
that all of us are special given to our own thoughts
how dare you try to minimize the battles we have fought for now I'll look beyond you, your goals and dreams dismissed now you're the one invisible...
what an awful twist
